Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need separate visas for all four Scandinavian countries?
No — Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland are all Schengen member states. ONE Schengen Tourist Visa covers this entire 12-day journey across all four countries seamlessly. Since Oslo (Norway) is your entry point, apply to the Royal Norwegian Consulate (VFS Global). Fee approx. ₹7,500. Processing: 10–15 working days. Holiday Vibez provides full documentation support. This is exceptional value — four countries, one visa!
What currencies are used across the four countries?
Each country uses a different currency: Norway uses Norwegian Krone (NOK), Sweden uses Swedish Krona (SEK), Denmark uses Danish Krone (DKK), and Finland uses Euros (EUR). Cards are accepted almost everywhere — Scandinavia is the world’s most cashless region. However, we recommend loading USD or EUR on your forex card and exchanging locally. All Scandinavian countries are expensive — budget approx. ₹4,000–6,000/day for meals and personal expenses.
When is the best time to visit Scandinavia?
Two completely different Scandinavia experiences: Summer (June–August) — The Midnight Sun. Long days of 20+ hours, lush green fjords, hiking, and all attractions open. July is warmest (18–25°C). Winter (November–February) — Snow-covered landscapes, Northern Lights in Norway and Finnish Lapland, husky safaris, and the magical Christmas experience in Rovaniemi. December–January is peak Northern Lights season. We offer both seasonal variants.
Is the Flåm Railway really that spectacular?
The Flåm Railway is one of the most breathtaking train journeys on earth. It descends 863 metres through 20km of landscape that includes 20 tunnels, the thundering Kjosfossen waterfall (where the train stops and a mythical Huldr apparition appears among the waterfalls — genuinely extraordinary), snow-capped peaks, deep gorges, and emerald valleys. Every traveller who does it says it was one of the most beautiful experiences of their entire life. It is genuinely unmissable.
Can children do the Reindeer Safari in Rovaniemi?
The Reindeer Safari is perfect for children — they absolutely love it! The reindeer sleigh rides are gentle and safe for all ages. Meeting Santa Claus at Santa’s Village is also a magical experience for children of all ages (and secretly for adults too!). In winter, the entire Rovaniemi experience with snow, reindeer, Santa, and potentially Northern Lights is one of the most memorable family experiences available anywhere in the world. Highly recommended for family groups.

The Flåm Railway was the single most beautiful thing we have ever seen. The train descends through 20 tunnels into increasingly dramatic scenery — then it stops at Kjosfossen waterfall and a woman in red appears dancing among the spray like a Norse spirit — completely surreal. Nærøyfjord ferry the next morning with 1,500m walls on both sides — silence broken only by waterfalls. Bergen is magical. Stockholm is elegant. Copenhagen is charming. Helsinki is different and brilliant. Rovaniemi with the reindeer in snow was our granddaughter’s favourite thing ever. Holiday Vibez delivered perfection.

Scandinavia is unlike anywhere else in Europe — the design, the cleanliness, the quality of life, the extraordinary nature. The Vasa Museum in Stockholm left me completely stunned — an entire 17th-century warship, perfectly preserved, rising 60 metres inside a museum. The Viking Ship Museum in Oslo is equally extraordinary. Nyhavn Copenhagen at midnight in June — still daylight, the canal full of boats and laughter — was one of the most joyful scenes I’ve experienced. The Finnish sauna experience in Helsinki was revelatory. And Rovaniemi with the Northern Lights appearing over the snow-covered pines at 11PM — I wept.

We visited in December for the Christmas experience and it was beyond anything we imagined. Copenhagen’s Tivoli Gardens in December is a fairy-tale — 100,000 lights, Christmas markets, and mulled wine. Helsinki was snow-covered and magical. But Rovaniemi on Christmas Eve — meeting Santa at his village, reindeer sleigh ride through the dark pine forest, and then Northern Lights appearing overhead — my 8-year-old daughter looked at me and said “Appa, is this real?” Yes, it was real. The most magical thing I have ever done. Holiday Vibez made it possible. Forever grateful.
