Central Europe is the most fairytale-like region on the continent — three Imperial capitals along the Danube, each more breathtaking than the last. Prague’s Gothic spires and castle-crowned hilltop are straight from a storybook. Vienna’s Habsburg palaces and coffee-house culture radiate Imperial grandeur. Budapest straddling the Danube at night, with its Parliament, illuminated bridges, and thermal bath tradition, is among the most spectacular urban scenes in Europe. Add the UNESCO medieval gem of Český Krumlov and a Bratislava day trip, and this 9-day package delivers the finest Central European experience available, all on a single Schengen visa. Rated 4.8 stars by 219 verified travellers.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many Schengen visas do I need for Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary and Slovakia?
Just ONE Schengen visa covers all four countries — Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, and Slovakia are all Schengen member states with completely open borders between them. Since Prague (Czech Republic) is your entry point, apply to the Czech Consulate (VFS Global). Fee approx. ₹7,500. Processing: 10–15 working days. Note: Hungary uses its own currency (Hungarian Forint / HUF), while Austria and Slovakia use the Euro, and Czech Republic uses Czech Koruna (CZK). Cards accepted almost everywhere. Apply 6 weeks before travel.
Is this a good first Europe trip?
Absolutely — this is one of our most recommended first-time Europe packages! Central Europe offers enormous value for money compared to Western Europe (meals and activities are 30–50% cheaper than Paris or London), English is widely spoken in tourist areas, the cities are compact and walkable, public transport is excellent, and the historical and architectural richness is extraordinary. Prague in particular consistently tops traveller satisfaction polls for first-time European visitors. The train journeys between cities are also scenic and relaxing.
When is the best time to visit Prague, Vienna and Budapest?
Spring (April–May) and autumn (September–October) are ideal. April–May offers blooming gardens, mild temperatures (15–22°C), and fewer crowds. September–October has golden light, harvest season, and excellent weather. June–August is warm (25–30°C) but very crowded and expensive. Winter (December) is magical with Christmas markets — Prague’s Old Town Square market and Vienna’s Christkindlmarkt are among the most beautiful in Europe, though prices are higher and days are short. Budapest is pleasant year-round as its thermal baths make it enjoyable even in winter.
Is Czech food and Austrian/Hungarian food vegetarian-friendly?
Czech, Austrian, and Hungarian cuisines are traditionally meat-heavy, but vegetarian options are increasingly available. Czech cuisine has excellent potato dishes, svíčková (available in vegetarian version), and fried cheese (smažený sýr). Vienna is very internationally minded with excellent vegetarian restaurants. Budapest has a growing vegetarian scene. We recommend trying: Viennese Apfelstrudel, Sachertorte, Hungarian lángos (fried bread), and Prague’s trdelník (chimney cake) — all vegetarian-friendly street foods.
Is the Danube Night Cruise really worth it?
Yes — every single traveller who has done it rates the Budapest Danube Night Cruise as a highlight of the entire 9-day trip. Budapest is often called the ‘Paris of the East’, and no description or photograph prepares you for the sight of the illuminated Parliament, Chain Bridge, Buda Castle, and Matthias Church reflected in the dark Danube water. The cruise lasts approximately 1 hour and circles the main stretch of the river past all the key monuments. It is the single best way to see Budapest in its full glory — and it’s included in your package.

I had been told Prague was beautiful. I was not told it would be the most beautiful city I have ever seen. Walking across Charles Bridge at 6AM in the mist, with the castle above and the church spires reflected in the Vltava, no other tourists, just silence and the sound of my footsteps on 700-year-old stone — I had to stop and stand still. Then Český Krumlov took that beauty and doubled it. Vienna’s Belvedere with Klimt’s The Kiss — genuinely moved me to tears. Budapest’s night cruise — the Parliament lit up in gold above the Danube — the most spectacular thing I have ever seen in any city. Central Europe is extraordinary. Holiday Vibez organised it all perfectly.

We chose this package as our first Europe trip and it was the perfect introduction. Everything was more affordable than we expected — meals, shopping, even the hotels felt excellent value. Vienna’s Schönbrunn Palace is bigger and more ornate than anything I’d imagined — 1,441 rooms, formal gardens stretching to the horizon, and a view of Vienna from the Gloriette hilltop that stays with you. The Széchenyi Baths in Budapest were extraordinary — soaking in 38°C geothermal water in a Neo-Baroque palace while chess players sat around us and steam rose in the cool air. Central Europe is brilliant. Thank you Holiday Vibez.

The Danube Cruise in Budapest at night — that was the moment of the trip. Standing on the deck as the boat glides past the Hungarian Parliament lit in gold, the Chain Bridge perfectly framed, Buda Castle rising behind it — I could not speak. I’ve seen photographs of Budapest and they do not prepare you. Also — Prague’s ruin bars! We’re in our 60s and not nightlife people at all, but our guide took us to Szimpla Kert and we sat for two hours surrounded by the most creative, chaotic, wonderful space we’d ever been in. Central Europe surprised us completely. This package is outstanding value — book it without hesitation.
