While most visitors rush straight to the Burj Khalifa, the true soul of Dubai lives along its 200-year-old Creek — in the fragrant Spice Souk, the glittering Gold Souk, the traditional wooden Abra ferries, and the wind-tower houses of Bastakiya. This focused 3-day heritage package explores the authentic Dubai that existed before the record-breaking towers — and pairs it with the Dubai Frame, the one monument that brilliantly frames the contrast between old and new. Our most affordable Dubai offering, and for culturally curious travellers, often our most memorable. Rated 4.5 stars by 189 verified travellers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is this heritage package best suited for?
This package is ideal for travellers who prioritise authentic cultural experiences over record-breaking attractions. It suits: history and architecture enthusiasts who want to understand Dubai’s origins; senior travellers who prefer walking at a comfortable pace through historic streets rather than high-rise observation decks; budget-conscious travellers who want Dubai without the premium price of the Burj Khalifa and Aquaventure; shoppers who want extended Gold Souk and Spice Souk time; and anyone visiting Dubai as part of a longer Middle East trip who wants the cultural context rather than the tourist highlights.
Can I add the Burj Khalifa or Desert Safari to this package?
Yes — both can be added easily. Adding Burj Khalifa At the Top (Level 124, skip-the-line) adds approximately ₹3,000–4,000 per person and can slot into Day 2 afternoon. Adding an Evening Desert Safari on Day 2 (dune bashing, camel riding, Bedouin BBQ dinner — 4h evening experience) adds approximately ₹3,500–5,000 per person. If you want to combine Old Dubai heritage with the Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Frame, and the Desert Safari — consider upgrading to our Dubai City Explorer (4D/3N, ₹46,000) which includes all of these together. Please mention any additions when enquiring and we will customise accordingly.
What is the Bastakiya and why is it significant?
Bastakiya (officially Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood) is the most perfectly preserved traditional quarter in Dubai and one of the oldest surviving examples of Gulf urban architecture. Built in the early 1900s by Iranian and Indian merchants from Bastak in Iran, its defining feature is the barjeel (wind tower) — a square tower that channels prevailing sea breezes down into the rooms below, creating natural air conditioning in a desert climate. It is Arabia’s original sustainable architecture — 1,000 years before modern HVAC systems. The neighbourhood was saved from demolition in the 1990s by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum himself and has been carefully restored. Today it houses the Dubai Museum, art galleries, and the excellent Sheikh Mohammed Cultural Centre.
Is it appropriate for non-Muslims to visit Jumeirah Mosque?
Yes — Jumeirah Mosque is one of the very few mosques in Dubai that welcomes non-Muslim visitors, specifically through the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding’s ‘Open Doors, Open Minds’ programme. Morning tours (typically 10AM, Saturday to Thursday) include a guided explanation of Islamic prayer, the significance of the mosque’s architecture, and an interactive Q&A session. Dress code: modest clothing required — shoulders covered, legs covered below knee. Abayas (modest robes) are provided for women who need them at the entrance. Shoes must be removed. The experience is welcoming, educational, and enlightening for visitors of all backgrounds.
What is Arabian Oud perfume and should I buy it?
Arabian Oud (also spelled aoud or attar) is oil-based perfume made from agarwood — a resinous heartwood that forms in certain trees when infected by a particular mould. The resulting fragrance is extraordinarily complex, warm, smoky, and sweet — unlike any Western alcohol-based perfume. Dubai’s Perfume Souk in Deira and the Arabian Oud flagship stores carry hundreds of varieties from AED 50–5,000+. Rasasi, Ajmal, and Arabian Oud are the most trusted brands. Oud makes the most distinctive and long-lasting Dubai souvenir — a small vial applied to wrists will last 12+ hours. We strongly recommend buying at least a small bottle. Our guide will help you find a quality purchase within your budget.

We are both retired school teachers in our late 60s and chose this package specifically because we wanted to understand Dubai, not just photograph it. The Bastakiya neighbourhood exceeded every expectation — walking through those narrow lanes between the wind-tower houses, stepping into the courtyard of the old fort, hearing the guide explain how these towers cooled entire houses through natural air movement — it was genuinely educational and moving. The Gold Souk was familiar in the best way — the merchants were warm, patient, and reminded us of George Town in Madurai. My wife bought a necklace after 90 minutes of careful looking. The Dhow Cruise dinner on the Creek at night — with the traditional buildings lit on one side and a glimpse of the modern towers in the distance — was a beautiful metaphor for all of Dubai. This package gave us the Dubai we came to find.

My husband had been to Dubai twice before for business but only ever saw the modern city. This was our first trip together and I specifically wanted the old city. The Spice Souk was exactly like what I had imagined from stories — the huge sacks of saffron (genuine Kashmiri and Iranian both available), rose water, henna, incense. We spent 2 hours there. The Abra crossing — paying 1 AED to ride in a wooden boat across the creek the exact same way Emiratis have done for 100 years — was the most authentic moment of the trip. The Jumeirah Mosque visit was unexpectedly moving — the guide’s explanation of Islamic prayer and the beautiful architecture left us with a much deeper understanding. The Dubai Frame on Day 3 was the perfect conclusion — looking from old Dubai to new in a single glance. Excellent package, excellent value.

We came as a group of 8 temple trustees from Thanjavur — average age about 65. We specifically did not want the Burj Khalifa or desert safari (our knees are not ideal for dune bashing!) and Holiday Vibez found us exactly the right package. The Gold Souk was outstanding — several in our group bought gold jewellery for their children’s weddings and the prices were genuinely good. The Arabic coffee and dates ceremony at the Sheikh Mohammed Centre was a wonderful cultural exchange — we shared information about our temple traditions and they explained Islamic prayer. The Dhow Cruise dinner was beautiful and the Indian food on the buffet was excellent. We would have liked one more day — so I gave 4 stars not 5 — but otherwise completely satisfied. Would send our friends with Holiday Vibez without hesitation.
