Budget Dubai City Break | Desert Camp & Dune Bashing

This was my first international trip, aged 26, going solo. I was nervous about travelling abroad alone for the first time. The Dhow Cruise that evening was genuinely romantic — traditional boat, buffet dinner, the Creek lit beautifully on both sides. The Burj Khalifa the next day — standing on Floor 124 looking down at the city — we had never seen anything from that height. The desert safari on Day 3: the dune bashing was completely beyond what we expected. My wife was screaming with fear and laughter simultaneously. The camel ride afterward, the BBQ dinner under the stars, the tanoura dancer spinning in the firelight — genuinely magical. For ₹46,000 all-inclusive, this is one of the best-value holidays available to Indian travellers.

The 4WD cresting a dune and the driver pointing the nose directly down the 35-degree slope — you look at the sand coming at you through the windscreen and your stomach lurches exactly like a rollercoaster drop, except there is no rail. My wife grabbed my arm so hard she left marks. Then we did it 15 more times. The stars at the Bedouin camp that night — we live in Coimbatore, which has enough light pollution that we see perhaps 50 stars. In the desert we saw thousands. The Dubai Fountain the previous evening had been extraordinary — the scale of it, synchronized to music, with the Burj Khalifa above it lit gold.
