Is the Desert Safari safe for children and elderly travellers?
Yes, with appropriate planning. Children 5+ generally enjoy dune bashing — it’s thrilling but safe in professional hands, lasting 20–30 minutes in modern 4WD Land Cruisers with seatbelts. Children under 5 and pregnant women skip the bashing and proceed directly to the Bedouin camp for camel rides, henna, and dinner. For elderly travellers, the bashing can be skipped entirely — the Bedouin camp experience (dinner, cultural shows, camelback rides, stargazing) is equally memorable and completely accessible. Can we add an Abu Dhabi day trip to this package?
Yes — Abu Dhabi is 1.5 hours from Dubai and can be added as a Day 5 full-day excursion (replacing the Marina day which can be rearranged). The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is the most spectacular mosque in the world — its capacity, white marble, and floral inlay work are extraordinary and it is free entry. Ferrari World (world’s fastest roller coaster — Formula Rossa at 240 km/h) and the Louvre Abu Dhabi (designed by Jean Nouvel with its extraordinary perforated dome) are the other must-visits. Abu Dhabi day trip with a private guide can be added for approximately ₹4,000–5,000 per person. Mention it when enquiring.

What should we wear in Dubai — are there dress code restrictions?
Dubai is a Muslim emirate but is genuinely moderate and welcoming to international tourists. In malls, restaurants, and tourist areas: Western clothing is completely fine. At the beach and water parks: swimwear is standard. On the Desert Safari: comfortable casual clothing — avoid open sandals as sand gets inside. At the Dubai Museum and Heritage areas: modest clothing is appreciated (shoulders covered, knees covered) but not strictly enforced. Note: Ramadan (dates vary by year) brings some restrictions on eating/drinking in public during daytime hours, but hotels and malls are unaffected. The Desert Safari on Day 3 was the single most exhilarating experience any of us had ever had — my 17-year-old son, who thought he was too cool to be impressed by anything, was gripping the handle bar and screaming during the dune bashing and then immediately asked to go again. The camel ride at sunset, the henna, the BBQ under a sky full of stars — my wife keeps talking about how peaceful it felt, completely away from the city. Then Day 4 at Aquaventure. My children are still talking about the Poseidon’s Revenge slide — the near-vertical drop through a translucent shark tank. They went on it four times. The Dubai Fountain surprised us most of all. We had low expectations — a fountain is a fountain — but this is not a fountain, it is a performance. 275 metres of water jets synchronized to Celine Dion, shooting 15 floors into the air, lit from below, with the Burj Khalifa glowing gold behind it, reflected in the dark water of the lake. My wife grabbed my arm and could not speak. We watched three consecutive shows without moving. The Lost Chambers Aquarium at Atlantis was equally surprising — walking through tunnels completely surrounded by thousands of fish, sharks overhead, jellyfish drifting around you — my wife is not usually someone who likes aquariums but she spent 2 hours in there. Dubai combines record-breaking things with genuine beauty. The Complete Experience package is exactly the right length to absorb it all properly. Strongly recommend.

The Desert Safari was the highlight of the trip for every single one of us — the dune bashing felt genuinely dangerous (it is completely safe but the feeling is extraordinary) and the transition from wild 4WD rides to sitting peacefully in a Bedouin camp watching a tanoura dancer spin under the desert stars, with unlimited BBQ and Arabic coffee, was one of the most memorable evenings any of us have spent anywhere. Dubai Marina on the last evening — walking 7km of waterfront, the towers lit, the yachts moored, restaurants spilling onto the walkway — the most glamorous urban setting I’ve seen.
