Is Positano accessible or very difficult to reach?
Positano is reached by ferry or hydrofoil from Naples (1h) — arriving by sea is the most spectacular and recommended way. The village is built on a steep cliff and all movement within it is by foot on steps and narrow paths (no cars, no lifts between most parts). This is part of its extraordinary charm. Most hotels have porters who carry your luggage, and it is entirely manageable. The steps are steep so we recommend comfortable walking shoes. Hotel rooms are rated by proximity to the beach and sea view quality — Holiday Vibez arranges the optimal room for honeymooners.
When is the best time for the Amalfi Coast honeymoon?
May–June and September–October are ideal. May–June gives you warm Tyrrhenian Sea (22–24°C), all attractions open, and the coast at its most colourful with bougainvillea in bloom. September–October has the warmest sea (25–26°C), golden afternoon light, and fewer crowds than peak summer. July–August is the most popular season — the Amalfi Coast road is extremely crowded and Positano fills with day-trippers. If you visit in summer, we recommend staying at least 3 nights to experience it in the early morning before the crowds arrive. The Amalfi Coast at 7AM — deserted, silent, the sea glittering — is the most beautiful Italy offers.
Is the Blue Grotto worth visiting?
The Blue Grotto (Grotta Azzurra) is one of the most famous natural phenomena in the world. A tiny rowboat takes you through a 1m entrance into a large sea cave — and inside, the sunlight refracts through an underwater opening to fill the entire cavern with an impossibly brilliant electric blue light. It lasts about 5–10 minutes inside, but the experience is genuinely extraordinary. Note: the Blue Grotto is weather and sea-condition dependent — it cannot be entered when the sea is rough (typically a few days per month). Holiday Vibez provides a backup boat excursion along Capri’s sea caves if the Blue Grotto is closed on your visit day.
Is the Amalfi Coast safe for Indian tourists?
The Amalfi Coast is extremely safe for tourists and very welcoming to Indian visitors. The area is a major international tourist destination and local businesses are highly accustomed to international guests. English is widely spoken in hotels, restaurants, and tourist sites. The only safety consideration is the driving — the Amalfi Coast road is very narrow and winding, with local drivers going at what feels like dangerous speed. We use experienced drivers and recommend not self-driving on the coast. Positano and Capri have no cars in the main village areas — you walk everywhere, which is much more relaxing and romantic.

Arriving in Positano by ferry — the approach from the sea, watching the pink and yellow houses materialise on the cliff face as we got closer — my wife gripped my arm and said nothing. We just watched. No photograph of Positano prepares you for the actual visual impact. Our sea-view room had a terrace directly above the village with the Tyrrhenian shimmering below. We sat there every morning for two hours with coffee. The private boat tour on Day 5 was the best day of the entire honeymoon — anchoring in a hidden cove accessible only by sea, swimming in turquoise water completely alone. The Ravello Terrace of Infinity is exactly what the name says — a marble terrace on a cliff edge with nothing between you and the horizon. Extraordinary. Thank you Holiday Vibez.

Capri is unlike any island I’ve visited in 12 countries. It feels like a dream of what an island should be — the blue water, the white rock, the Faraglioni rising from the sea, the little squares with their bougainvillea, the smell of lemon everywhere. The Blue Grotto — we were not sure it would open due to slight swell — but it did. When the rowboat dipped through the tiny entrance and we were inside — the blue light surrounding us — I will never forget my wife’s expression. She looked like she was inside a painting. The Amalfi Coast road on the way to Ravello — the hairpin bends above the sea — was terrifying and thrilling and I understood why people call it the most beautiful drive in the world. We are both architects and chose the Amalfi Coast partly for the extraordinary buildings — Positano built into a cliff face, the Arab-Norman Amalfi Cathedral, the Villa d’Este fountain gardens at Tivoli, and Hadrian’s Villa. All exceeded expectation. But what we remember most is smaller: sitting on our Positano terrace at 7AM before the day-trippers arrived, the village completely silent, the sea a deep impossibly blue, my wife reading with a coffee — that specific quality of Italian morning light — I keep returning to that morning. Rome’s Trevi Fountain at midnight with almost nobody there — we tossed our coins and the fountain was entirely ours for twenty minutes. Italy is extraordinary and the Amalfi is Italy at its most distilled and pure.
