Frequently Asked Questions
What visa do Indians need for Croatia?
Croatia joined the Schengen Area on 1 January 2023! Indians now need a Schengen Tourist Visa for Croatia, applied through the Croatian Consulate (VFS Global). Fee approx. ₹7,500. Processing: 10–15 working days. Croatia also uses the Euro (€) since January 2023. Holiday Vibez provides full documentation support. Apply 6 weeks before travel. One Schengen visa covers Croatia and all 26 other Schengen member states.
Is Dubrovnik really as beautiful as in Game of Thrones?
Yes — and more so! Dubrovnik’s old city is genuinely extraordinary — completely intact medieval walls, orange-roofed Baroque palaces, and the impossibly blue Adriatic below. Standing on the city walls at golden hour watching the sun set over the Adriatic is one of the most beautiful moments you can experience in Europe. GoT fans will love recognising specific streets and buildings, but even non-fans find Dubrovnik completely breathtaking.
When is the best time to visit Croatia?
May–June and September are ideal — warm weather (24–28°C), crystal-clear Adriatic sea (25°C in September), and far fewer crowds than peak summer. July–August is the most popular (and most expensive) season — Hvar and Dubrovnik are extremely crowded and hot (35–38°C). Plitvice Lakes is spectacular in spring (May) when waterfalls are at full flow. Hvar lavender blooms in June. We strongly recommend May, June, or September.
Is Croatia expensive for Indian tourists?
Croatia is moderately priced — more affordable than Italy, Greece, or France, but not as cheap as Turkey. A seafood dinner in Split costs EUR 20–40. An Adriatic boat tour might be EUR 60–80. Dubrovnik is the most expensive city. The excellent value comes from the extraordinary quality of experiences — the Adriatic water is the cleanest in Europe, the food is excellent, and Croatia punches well above its weight for beauty. Our package price of ₹1,02,000 is exceptional value for 8 days covering 5 cities.
Is Plitvice Lakes really worth the long drive from Split?
Absolutely — every single one of our 119 travellers says Plitvice Lakes was the highlight of the trip! The turquoise colour of the water is literally impossible to believe — it looks like someone photoshopped it. Walking over the floating boardwalks directly above the crystal-clear lakes, with waterfalls cascading all around you — it is unlike anything else on earth. The 2h 30min drive from Split is completely worth it. Bring waterproof shoes, the spray from Veliki Slap gets you delightfully wet!

I am a massive Game of Thrones fan and visiting Dubrovnik was a pilgrimage. Standing on the steps where Cersei did her Walk of Shame, looking down at the exact bay that was Blackwater Bay — genuinely emotional. But even for my wife who hasn’t watched GoT, Dubrovnik was simply the most beautiful city she’d ever seen. And then Plitvice Lakes happened and she completely lost her mind. The turquoise colour of that water is not real. It cannot be real. But it is. Croatia is extraordinary.

September was perfect timing — warm Adriatic water (we swam every day!), half the crowds of summer, and everything still open. Hvar Island was a complete revelation — we’d never heard of it before the trip and it became our favourite destination in Europe. The Pakleni Islands boat tour with swimming in coves with 30m visibility water was the best day of our lives. Zadar’s Sea Organ at sunset — listening to the Adriatic play music as the sun sank — was quietly the most moving experience of the whole trip. Thank you Holiday Vibez!

We visited Croatia as our first European trip and chose Holiday Vibez based on their reviews. Best decision we ever made. The food in Split was absolutely extraordinary — grilled fresh fish, black risotto, lamb under the peka. I genuinely didn’t want to leave. Living inside Diocletian’s Palace — walking through the same underground corridors where a Roman Emperor lived — was surreal. The ferry journeys between the islands were beautiful in themselves. Croatia is now our go-to recommendation for every friend planning Europe.
