Best Time to Visit Nepal
Season-by-season guidance for temples, treks and mountain views
Timing shapes a Nepal trip more than almost anywhere — the same viewpoint can be crystal clear in autumn or lost in monsoon cloud. Broadly, October to November brings the clearest Himalayan views, March to April offers a beautiful spring with rhododendron blooms, the monsoon (June–August) is green but wet, and winter is bright in the valleys yet cold at altitude. This guide helps you match your interests — sightseeing, trekking or wildlife — to the right season. Indians don't need a visa for Nepal, so you can plan freely around the weather.
Top things to see & do
Suggested itinerary
The best all-round window — clear skies, prime trekking and vibrant festivals across the country.
Warm, colourful and excellent for trekking and sightseeing before the rains.
Hot in the lowlands with building humidity; still workable for lower treks and valley sights.
Green and quiet with lower prices, but expect rain, delayed flights and clouded peaks.
Bright valley days ideal for Kathmandu and Pokhara sightseeing; high treks are cold and snowy.

Overview of Nepal's Seasons
Nepal has four broad seasons, each suiting different travel styles. Autumn and spring are the classic windows for both sightseeing and trekking, while winter favours low-altitude touring and monsoon rewards those who don't mind rain with lush scenery and fewer visitors.
Best Time for Trekking
For high routes like Everest and Annapurna, aim for late September–November or March–May. Autumn gives the most reliable visibility; spring adds warmth and blooms. Winter treks are possible at lower altitudes but very cold higher up, and monsoon brings slippery trails and flight delays.
Best Time for Sightseeing & Wildlife
Kathmandu and Pokhara are enjoyable most of the year, with autumn and spring the most comfortable. For Chitwan wildlife, the dry October–March stretch offers the best conditions and grass short enough to spot rhinos more easily.
Weather Realities
Mountain weather changes fast and views are never assured, even in peak season. Monsoon can delay mountain flights (including Lukla), and winter can close high passes. We plan flexibly and suggest buffer days, but nature has the final say.
Entry & Documents
Indian citizens do not need a visa for Nepal in any season. Enter with a valid Indian passport or Voter ID (Election Commission card).

Real stories from real journeys
Thousands of families and couples across South India have travelled with us — here's what a few of them had to say.
Travelling with my parents and two kids, I was nervous. Holiday Vibez planned every single day perfectly, and the Alleppey houseboat was the highlight. We are already planning our next trip with them.
Best price I found anywhere, and the desert safari and Burj Khalifa tickets were all sorted before we even landed. The team was on WhatsApp whenever I had a question.
The Gulmarg gondola, the shikara ride on Dal Lake — exactly like the photos, no surprises at all. By the end of the trip our driver felt like family.
Booked a fairly last-minute Phuket trip and they still got me a great deal with visa help included. Honest, smooth and genuinely helpful people.
Scuba at Havelock was a dream come true. Every transfer and every hotel was exactly as promised. Worth every rupee, and I have already recommended them to friends.
