For most Indian travellers, a first trip to Europe is a once-in-a-lifetime bucket-list holiday — and it’s best experienced as a multi-country tour. With a single Schengen visa you can glide between Paris, the Swiss Alps and the great cities of Italy, all connected by scenic trains. This 15-day Europe itinerary covers the icons at a comfortable pace, with advice on the route, the Schengen visa, the best season and the budget.
Days 1–3: Paris, the City of Light
Begin in Paris. See the Eiffel Tower (book the summit in advance), cruise the Seine, explore the Louvre and Notre-Dame, and stroll Montmartre. Add a day trip to the opulent Palace of Versailles. Three nights is the ideal taster of the French capital.
Days 4–6: Switzerland’s Alps
Take the train to Switzerland and base yourself in Lucerne or Interlaken. Ride a cogwheel train up Jungfraujoch — the “Top of Europe” — cruise an alpine lake, and soak up the storybook mountain scenery that makes Switzerland a favourite for Indian families and honeymooners alike.
Days 7–9: Venice & Florence
Cross into Italy for romance and Renaissance art. Glide the canals of Venice by gondola, then head to Florence for Michelangelo’s David, the Duomo and Tuscan cuisine. The train journeys between cities are half the fun.
Days 10–12: Rome & the Vatican
No European trip is complete without Rome. Walk through 2,000 years of history at the Colosseum and Roman Forum, toss a coin in the Trevi Fountain, and spend a day at Vatican City to see St Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel.
Days 13–15: Amsterdam or the lakes
Finish with either the canals, museums and easy charm of Amsterdam, or a relaxed couple of days around the Swiss or Italian lakes (Como, Lucerne) before flying home. This keeps the pace gentle at the end of a busy trip.
The Schengen visa explained
A single Schengen visa covers most of Western Europe. Apply 4–8 weeks before travel through the official visa centre of your main destination. You’ll need a passport, confirmed flights and hotels, a day-by-day itinerary, bank statements and travel insurance. We provide the complete visa-ready document set and appointment guidance.
Best time, budget & tips
May to September offers the best weather and long days; spring and autumn are cheaper with fewer crowds. Multi-country Europe tours start around ₹1,35,000 per person. Pack layers, carry a universal adaptor, validate train tickets, and keep digital and printed copies of all documents.
