Fly Kochi to Agatti, then transfer by boat to Thinnakara. Check into your tented cottage and unwind with a first walk on the sand.
Snorkel the house reef in the morning, then laze on the sandbank. Round off the day with a sunset dhoni ride on the lagoon.

Thinnakara is reached via the archipelago's only airport at Agatti. Fly Kochi (COK) to Agatti (AGX) on the small ATR service, then take a short boat or speedboat transfer across to the island. Travellers from Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai and elsewhere connect through Kochi, as there are no direct flights to Lakshadweep from other cities.
A mandatory entry permit is required for every visitor to Lakshadweep, Thinnakara included. Holiday Vibez helps arrange it within your package, subject to government approval — apply around 15–30 days ahead with ID proof, passport photos and a police clearance certificate. We cannot guarantee or fast-track the permit, so book early.
Thinnakara's accommodation is its charm: comfortable tented eco-cottages a few steps from the water, rather than a big hotel. It's a deliberately simple, low-impact stay in keeping with the island's fragile environment. Note that Thinnakara is dry — alcohol in Lakshadweep is permitted only on nearby Bangaram.
Few places feel as private as Thinnakara. With a sandbank for two, a reef to snorkel and skies full of stars, it's tailor-made for honeymooners and couples who want seclusion over nightlife. Days drift by on lagoon time, and Bangaram is close enough for a special day out.
Life here revolves around the sea. Snorkel the house reef, kayak the calm shallows, walk out to the sandbank, take a sunset dhoni ride, or boat over to Bangaram for scuba diving.
Pack light, reef-safe and low-tech — this is a place to switch off. Carry cash, as cards and ATMs are limited, and keep a BSNL/postpaid SIM for the most reliable signal. Book in the October–May season for calm seas, and always leave the reef untouched to protect this delicate island.
