Scuba Diving in Lakshadweep
Warm water, glass-clear visibility and living coral gardens off Agatti, Kadmat and Bangaram.
Lakshadweep is one of India's finest and least-crowded scuba destinations, where sheltered lagoons drop away into vibrant coral walls in the Arabian Sea. Agatti, Kadmat and Bangaram each run dive centres offering everything from a first-timer's discover-scuba session to full PADI certification. Visibility often stretches well beyond 20 metres in the dry months, and the reefs teem with parrotfish, turtles, rays and reef sharks. Whether you have never breathed underwater or you're a logged diver chasing pristine coral, this is a bucket-list dive region.

Suggested itinerary
Fly Kochi to Agatti and transfer to your stay. Meet the dive team for a briefing and pool or shallow-lagoon orientation.
First-timers take a shallow, instructor-led discover-scuba dive in the lagoon. Certified divers head to the reef for their first boat dive.
Explore coral walls and gardens with two guided dives, watching for turtles, rays and shoaling reef fish.
Transfer by boat for a change of reef, or continue diving locally. Log your dives and enjoy the lagoon between sessions.
A final surface-interval morning of snorkelling before your boat and flight back via Kochi.

Where to dive: Agatti, Kadmat & Bangaram
Three islands anchor most diving in Lakshadweep. Agatti is the arrival point and a comfortable place to start, with reef right off the lagoon. Kadmat has the region's best-known dedicated dive centre and a superb long lagoon. Bangaram suits divers who want a quieter, resort-based experience.
- Agatti — gateway, beginner-friendly reefs
- Kadmat — long lagoon, established dive school
- Bangaram — private island, boat dives
Discover scuba vs PADI certification
You do not need any experience to try scuba here. A discover-scuba session lets absolute beginners dive to shallow depths with an instructor holding onto them the whole time. If you want to dive independently, the centres run PADI courses from Open Water upwards, combining theory, confined-water skills and open-water dives over several days.
Visibility & marine life
In the dry season the water is famously clear, with visibility frequently exceeding 20 metres. The reefs are alive with hard and soft corals, clownfish, parrotfish, butterflyfish, moray eels, octopus, turtles and rays, with reef sharks on deeper dives. Because tourist numbers are limited, the coral remains in excellent health compared with busier destinations.
Best season for diving
Dive season runs October to May, with the calmest, clearest water from December to April. During the June to September monsoon the sea turns rough, many boat transfers are suspended and most diving pauses, so plan your trip firmly within the dry window.
Safety & who can dive
Diving is guided by certified instructors and follows standard safety rules. You should be in reasonable health, comfortable in water and free of conditions such as serious heart, lung or ear problems; a medical declaration is usually required. Children can often try shallow programmes subject to age and centre policy, and you must not fly for around 18–24 hours after your last dive.
What it costs
Dive activities are usually added onto a Lakshadweep package rather than bought as a standalone trip. Land packages start from ₹13,999 per person on twin-sharing for a short trip, with diving priced per dive or per course by the centre. Your final quote depends on island, season, flights and permit, so we tailor the diving element to your experience level and how many dives you want.

Real stories from real journeys
Thousands of families and couples across South India have travelled with us — here's what a few of them had to say.
Travelling with my parents and two kids, I was nervous. Holiday Vibez planned every single day perfectly, and the Alleppey houseboat was the highlight. We are already planning our next trip with them.
Best price I found anywhere, and the desert safari and Burj Khalifa tickets were all sorted before we even landed. The team was on WhatsApp whenever I had a question.
The Gulmarg gondola, the shikara ride on Dal Lake — exactly like the photos, no surprises at all. By the end of the trip our driver felt like family.
Booked a fairly last-minute Phuket trip and they still got me a great deal with visa help included. Honest, smooth and genuinely helpful people.
Scuba at Havelock was a dream come true. Every transfer and every hotel was exactly as promised. Worth every rupee, and I have already recommended them to friends.
