A slim island with an exceptionally long lagoon, it is fringed by shallow turquoise shallows on one side and open reef on the other, giving some of Lakshadweep's best scuba and snorkelling. An established dive centre makes it easy for beginners and certified divers alike, while the pace ashore stays gentle and unhurried. Fly Kochi to Agatti, then transfer by boat to Kadmat and settle into your cottage. Spend the afternoon easing into the long lagoon.

Kadmat is arguably Lakshadweep's premier spot for underwater time. The dive centre runs guided discover-scuba dives for beginners in the calm lagoon and deeper reef dives for certified divers. Snorkellers have healthy coral and clear shallows right off the beach, so no experience is needed to enjoy the reef.
The island's long lagoon is its signature: sheltered, shallow and beautifully clear, it is made for kayaking, swimming and glass-bottom boat rides.
There is no airport on Kadmat, so you fly Kochi to Agatti on small ATR flights, then transfer by boat or speedboat to Kadmat. Travellers from other cities connect through Kochi. We arrange the transfers as part of your package.
Kadmat's accommodation is in simple, comfortable cottages near the water rather than large hotels, in keeping with the island's laid-back and eco-sensitive nature. Meals are usually included, and the quiet, unhurried atmosphere is a big part of the appeal.
An entry permit is mandatory for every visitor. Holiday Vibez assists with and arranges it as part of your package, subject to government approval, so apply 15 to 30 days ahead with ID proof, photographs and a police clearance certificate. Visit between October and May for calm seas and clear water; the June to September monsoon brings rough seas and suspended transfers.
