Lakshadweep Water Sports: Lagoon Adventures
Kayaks, glass-bottom boats and reef walks across warm, wonderfully calm lagoons
Lakshadweep's sheltered lagoons are a natural playground for water sports, and much of the fun is refreshingly low-impact. From kayaking and glass-bottom boat rides to snorkelling, reef walks and beginner-friendly scuba, the emphasis here is on non-motorised, eco-conscious activity that protects the coral. Agatti, Kadmat and Bangaram are the main hubs, each with calm shallows perfect for trying something new. Whether you want a gentle paddle or your first breath underwater, the archipelago's clear, warm water makes it easy and exhilarating.

What water sports can you do?
Lakshadweep offers a satisfying spread of mostly gentle activities: kayaking, glass-bottom boat rides, snorkelling, scuba diving, reef walks and lagoon swimming, plus classic sunset dhoni rides. Most are non-motorised and low-impact by design, keeping the fragile reef safe while still delivering plenty of adventure.

Scuba diving for all levels
Diving is a highlight, with beginner discover-scuba and PADI courses available at Agatti, Kadmat and Bangaram. Kadmat in particular is known for its dive centre and reef. No experience is needed for a first supervised dive, though a basic health and swimming check applies.
An eco-friendly focus
These islands are eco-sensitive, so water sports here lean deliberately towards non-motorised, low-impact options. Kayaks, reef walks and snorkelling let you enjoy the lagoon without harming it. Please avoid touching coral, use reef-safe sunscreen and follow guides' instructions to keep the ecosystem healthy.
Where to go
Agatti is the gateway and a fine all-round base; Kadmat excels for diving and snorkelling with its long lagoon; and Bangaram offers a resort setting with a lively house reef. Choosing among them shapes your trip, and we can help match islands to the activities you most want.
How to reach & permit
Fly Kochi (COK) to Agatti (AGX), then transfer by boat; all cities route through Kochi. An entry permit is mandatory for every visitor — we help arrange it, subject to government approval, so apply around 15–30 days ahead with ID proof, photos and a police clearance certificate.
Best time & safety
Water sports run best in the calm, clear October–May season; December to April is peak. During the June–September monsoon rough seas suspend most activities. Always follow operator safety briefings, use a buddy system, and check conditions before heading out on the water.

Real stories from real journeys
Thousands of families and couples across South India have travelled with us — here's what a few of them had to say.
Travelling with my parents and two kids, I was nervous. Holiday Vibez planned every single day perfectly, and the Alleppey houseboat was the highlight. We are already planning our next trip with them.
Best price I found anywhere, and the desert safari and Burj Khalifa tickets were all sorted before we even landed. The team was on WhatsApp whenever I had a question.
The Gulmarg gondola, the shikara ride on Dal Lake — exactly like the photos, no surprises at all. By the end of the trip our driver felt like family.
Booked a fairly last-minute Phuket trip and they still got me a great deal with visa help included. Honest, smooth and genuinely helpful people.
Scuba at Havelock was a dream come true. Every transfer and every hotel was exactly as promised. Worth every rupee, and I have already recommended them to friends.
