ISKCON Ahmedabad, formally Sri Sri Radha Govinda Dham, is the city's Krishna temple of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, standing at the ISKCON crossroads where Satellite Road meets the Sarkhej–Gandhinagar Highway. The presiding deities are Sri Sri Radha Govinda — Krishna in his form as Govinda, the cowherd, with Radharani beside him — worshipped in the Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu that Srila Prabhupada carried worldwide. The temple is a modern one, opened in the 1990s, but built in stone in a blend of Gujarati Sompura and Rajasthani craft traditions, with hand-carved shikharas rising above one of the largest single temple halls in the country. Families come less for antiquity than for the darshan, the kirtan, and the prasadam hall; it is an easy, comfortable stop for elders who cannot manage steps or long queues.
November to February is the pleasant window, when Ahmedabad is dry and mild and long hours in the hall are comfortable; April to June is genuinely harsh, often crossing 40°C. Janmashtami, Krishna's birth celebration in August or September, is the temple's biggest night and draws very large crowds well past midnight — beautiful, but not an easy evening for elderly pilgrims. The temple also holds a Rath Yatra in Ashadha (June–July), which falls in peak heat and monsoon.
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport is roughly 18 km away, about 45 minutes by taxi depending on traffic. Ahmedabad Junction (Kalupur) railway station is around 11–12 km east; Sabarmati and Maninagar stations are alternatives. By road the temple sits directly on the Sarkhej–Gandhinagar Highway at ISKCON Cross Road, with a BRTS stop of the same name a few hundred metres away, and autos and app cabs available across the city.
Dress modestly as you would for any Vaishnava temple — covered shoulders and legs. Footwear is left outside, and photography inside the deity hall is usually restricted, so follow the boards and the sevaks. Aarti and darshan hours change with the festival calendar; confirm with the temple before you travel.

Is ISKCON Ahmedabad the same as the Hare Krishna Mandir in Bhadaj?
No, they are two different temples run by two different arms of the Hare Krishna movement. ISKCON Sri Sri Radha Govinda Dham is at ISKCON Cross Road on the Sarkhej–Gandhinagar Highway; the Hare Krishna Mandir, with Sri Sri Radha Madhav, is at Bhadaj on the city's northwest edge. If you have time, many visitors see both — check the address on your cab booking so you are not dropped at the wrong one.
Can non-Hindus and foreign visitors enter?
Yes. ISKCON temples are open to everyone regardless of faith or nationality, provided you observe the temple's basic etiquette on dress, footwear and silence in the hall.
Is it suitable for elderly parents?
Generally yes — it is a flat, city-centre temple with no climb, a large seated hall and a prasadam area, and it is one of the easier darshans in Ahmedabad for those with limited mobility. The exception is Janmashtami, when crowds are heavy and the wait is long.
