Overview

River rafting is one of Nepal's great outdoor thrills, suited to everyone from nervous first-timers to hardened paddlers. The Trishuli is the accessible all-rounder, the Bhote Koshi is a compact adrenaline hit, and the Seti is gentle and warm. Trips range from a few hours to multi-day expeditions with riverside camping. Every trip is fully guided with proper safety gear.

Rivers by Difficulty

Popular options include:

  • Easy: Seti River - warm, gentle and family-friendly near Pokhara
  • Moderate: Trishuli River - fun rapids and easy access from Kathmandu
  • Challenging: Bhote Koshi - steep, continuous whitewater for thrill seekers

How to Reach

Fly to Kathmandu (KTM) from South India via Delhi or Kolkata. The Trishuli and Bhote Koshi are easily reached by road from Kathmandu, while the Seti is close to Pokhara. We arrange transfers to and from the river.

Entry, Passport & Documents

Indian citizens do not need a visa for Nepal. Travel with a valid Indian passport or Voter ID card - there is no visa fee. Carry a photo ID, and let us know if you cannot swim so guides can plan accordingly.

Best Time & Weather

The best rafting months are generally September-November and March-May, when water levels are exciting yet safe. High monsoon flows can make some rivers dangerous, and winter water is very cold. We match your river and dates to the season and your comfort level.

What's Included

Rafting trips typically include your raft and safety equipment, licensed guides, a safety briefing and transfers to the river. Multi-day trips add riverside camping and meals. Rafting combines superbly with a Kathmandu, Pokhara or Chitwan itinerary.
