Beyond its mountains, Nepal hides a wild lowland world of dense jungle, grassland and river, home to one-horned rhinos, wild elephants and the elusive Bengal tiger. A jungle safari in Chitwan or Bardia National Park adds a thrilling wildlife dimension to any Nepal trip. Indian citizens need no visa for Nepal - a passport or Voter ID is enough. Holiday Vibez arranges comfortable jungle lodges, expert naturalists and guided safari activities, while being honest that wildlife sightings can never be assured.

Overview

A Nepal jungle safari is the perfect counterpoint to the Himalaya - warm, green and teeming with life. Chitwan is the classic, easily reached choice, while Bardia offers a wilder, quieter experience with stronger tiger chances. Safaris are family-friendly and led by trained naturalists. Two or three nights is ideal for a satisfying wildlife stay.

Things to Do

Typical safari activities include:

  • Jeep safaris deep into the park
  • Dugout canoe rides on the river
  • Guided jungle nature walks and birdwatching
  • Tharu cultural performances in the evening

How to Reach

Fly to Kathmandu (KTM) from South India via Delhi or Kolkata. Chitwan is a scenic drive or short flight from Kathmandu or Pokhara, while Bardia lies further west and is usually reached via a flight to Nepalgunj. We arrange all transfers.

Entry, Passport & Documents

Indian citizens do not need a visa for Nepal. Enter with a valid Indian passport or Voter ID card - there is no visa fee. Carry a photo ID for lodge check-ins and national park entry, which we arrange for you.

Best Time & Weather

October to March is the finest window, with pleasant weather and excellent sightings as animals gather near water. Spring can bring good sightings too, though it grows hot, and the monsoon can flood parts of the parks. Wildlife is wild, so sightings can never be assured.

What's Included

Safari packages typically include jungle lodge accommodation, meals, guided safari activities, a naturalist and national park entry. Transfers and flights can be added, and the safari combines easily with a wider Nepal tour. We tailor the stay to your interests.
