Wellness the Bhutanese way
Bhutan's approach to wellbeing is rooted in nature, Buddhism and community. This retreat weaves together traditional therapies, mindful movement and time in sacred spaces, all set against clean mountain air and unhurried valleys, for a genuinely restorative escape.
What's included in the experience
Your retreat blends rest and gentle activity:
- Traditional hot-stone (menchu) baths
- Guided meditation and breathing sessions
- Quiet monastery and temple visits
- Easy nature walks at comfortable altitude
The traditional hot-stone bath
The Bhutanese menchu bath is a centuries-old therapy in which river stones are heated in a fire and slid into a wooden tub of water infused with medicinal artemisia leaves. The warm, mineral-rich soak is prized for easing tired muscles and aiding relaxation after a day of gentle walking.
How to reach
Fly into Paro (PBH) and travel overland by private vehicle to the calmer, lower valleys such as Punakha, ideal for a restful retreat. Your guide keeps the pace gentle throughout.
Entry permit & documents
Indian citizens do not need a traditional visa. You need an Entry Permit, which Holiday Vibez arranges, and travel on a valid Indian passport or Voter ID. The Sustainable Development Fee is currently about ₹1,200 per person per night for Indians (children discounted, under-6 exempt; subject to change).
Best time & who it suits
Spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) offer the most comfortable weather, though a wellness retreat can be enjoyed year-round in the warmer valleys. It suits anyone seeking rest, mindful travel or recovery from a busy life, at any fitness level.

Real stories from real journeys
Thousands of families and couples across South India have travelled with us — here's what a few of them had to say.
Travelling with my parents and two kids, I was nervous. Holiday Vibez planned every single day perfectly, and the Alleppey houseboat was the highlight. We are already planning our next trip with them.
Best price I found anywhere, and the desert safari and Burj Khalifa tickets were all sorted before we even landed. The team was on WhatsApp whenever I had a question.
The Gulmarg gondola, the shikara ride on Dal Lake — exactly like the photos, no surprises at all. By the end of the trip our driver felt like family.
Booked a fairly last-minute Phuket trip and they still got me a great deal with visa help included. Honest, smooth and genuinely helpful people.
Scuba at Havelock was a dream come true. Every transfer and every hotel was exactly as promised. Worth every rupee, and I have already recommended them to friends.
