The nearest airport is Kozhikode (CCJ), roughly a two-to-three-hour drive up the hills; Kochi (COK) is a longer alternative. There's no railway in Wayanad itself, so guests arrive by road via Kozhikode or Mysuru. We arrange comfortable private transfers for the winding mountain route.
September to March is the sweet spot — clear, cool and beautifully green after the rains, with December and January peak. The June to August monsoon makes the waterfalls thunder and the hills intensely lush, ideal for travellers who love dramatic, misty scenery.
Wear proper walking shoes for Edakkal and Chembra treks, and start early to beat the crowds and midday heat. Carry a rain layer year-round, keep some cash for entry tickets, and note that safaris and Chembra permits can have daily limits — we help secure slots where possible.
