Sri Lanka is one of the best places in Asia to see big wildlife. Yala boasts a famous leopard density, while Udawalawe is renowned for its wild elephant herds. Add whale watching off Mirissa in season and you have a genuine safari-and-ocean combination in one short trip.

When you're ready to slow down, the coast delivers. Bentota and Unawatuna are easy-going and family-friendly, Mirissa pairs beaches with whale watching, and Galle adds colonial charm. On the east coast, Trincomalee and Nilaveli shine from May to September.
The west and south coasts plus the hills are best from December to March, while the east coast peaks from May to September. You fly into Colombo (CMB) on direct flights from several Indian metros in about one to three-and-a-half hours. Indian travellers need an ETA e-visa, applied online — we assist.
