Set on the western shore of Havelock (Swaraj Dweep), it offers a broad crescent of powder-white sand, calm turquoise shallows and spectacular sunsets framed by forest. It is the beach that makes travellers fall for the islands. Indian nationals need no permit, and it is an easy visit once you reach Havelock.
Fly to Port Blair and cross by ferry to Havelock, settling in near the island's beaches.
Spend a full, relaxed day at Radhanagar, swimming in the shallows and staying for the sunset.
Add snorkelling or water sports at Elephant Beach, then return to Radhanagar for another evening.

October to May offers calm, clear water perfect for swimming, with December and January the peak. Monsoon months can bring rougher seas and stronger currents.
Use the changing rooms and lockers, carry cash as ATMs are limited on Havelock, and heed any lifeguard flags, as currents near Neil's Cove can be strong at times.
