The Cellular Jail was built by the British to isolate political prisoners far from the mainland. The evening light-and-sound programme uses narration, music and dramatic lighting to walk you through those years, from the hardships of the cells to the courage of the men held here. It typically runs for around an hour after sunset.
Shows run in the evening, usually with an English sitting on selected days and Hindi on others. Exact timings shift by season, so we confirm the current schedule and reserve your seats when we book your Port Blair stay. Arrive a little early for the best view of the central courtyard.
