Ninh Binh delivers Halong-style karst scenery without the boats and crowds, all set among tranquil rice fields. It is compact, easy to reach and packed with sampan rides, viewpoints and temples, making it one of the north's most rewarding stops.
Ninh Binh lies a couple of hours south of Hanoi by road. Fly into Hanoi's Noi Bai airport, which connects from India directly on some routes or with one stop, and we arrange your transfer to Ninh Binh.
The north is best from October to April. Late spring brings ripening golden rice around Tam Coc, a beautiful time for photos, while cooler months are ideal for the Mua Cave climb.
