Munnar rewards travellers who love scenery over schedules. The big draws are the tea gardens themselves — best explored on foot with a local guide — alongside wildlife at Eravikulam, tranquil dams and lofty viewpoints. It suits couples, families and photographers alike, and its cool climate is a welcome contrast to the warm plains.

The nearest airport is Kochi (COK), roughly a scenic four-hour drive away, with direct flights from all major metros. Kozhikode (CCJ) and Trivandrum (TRV) are alternatives. There is no railway station at Munnar itself; most travellers arrive by road from Kochi or Aluva. We arrange comfortable private transfers throughout.
The pleasant window of September to March is ideal, with clear skies, lush post-monsoon greenery and cool days — December and January are peak. The June to August monsoon turns the hills intensely green and atmospheric, perfect if you enjoy misty, quieter mountains and don't mind the rain.
Pack light cottons with a warm layer for chilly mornings and evenings, plus a rain shell in monsoon. Roads are winding, so allow time and keep travel-sickness remedies handy. Mobile signal can be patchy in the estates, and it's worth carrying cash for smaller vendors.
