Guwahati is the gateway airport, connected from South India, with the caves reached by road via Shillong and Cherrapunji. We arrange transfers and specialist caving guides for the wilder systems. Flights are additional to the land package.
October to April is ideal, when river caves are safer and trails drier. The monsoon floods many cave passages and is best avoided, so we schedule caving in the dry months.
Show caves need only good shoes, while wild caves require a guide, helmet and torch, which we arrange. Wear quick-dry clothes and expect to get wet in river caves. Never enter serious caves without a qualified guide.
