Guwahati (GAU) is the Northeast's main airport with direct and connecting flights from major South Indian cities. Most travellers fly in to start their journey, so flights are separate from the land package. The airport is well connected to the city by road.
October to April brings pleasant, dry weather ideal for temple visits and river cruises. Summers are warm and humid, while the monsoon swells the Brahmaputra dramatically, so the cooler months are most comfortable.
