A journey through Bhutan's sacred sites
This itinerary threads together the temples and fortress-monasteries that define Bhutanese Buddhism. From the ancient Kyichu Lhakhang to the cliff-perched Tiger's Nest, each stop carries its own legend, art and atmosphere, brought to life by your licensed guide.
Understanding dzongs
Dzongs are fortified complexes that combine monastery, administration and community roles. Highlights on this tour include:
- Punakha Dzong at the river confluence
- Thimphu's Tashichho Dzong
- The Paro valley dzong and watchtower
How to reach
Fly into Paro (PBH) and travel overland by private vehicle between valleys. Overland entry via Phuentsholing is possible for those on a wider India itinerary.
Entry permit & documents
Indian citizens do not get a traditional visa for Bhutan. You need an Entry Permit, arranged by Holiday Vibez, and travel on a valid Indian passport or Voter ID. The Sustainable Development Fee is currently about ₹1,200 per person per night for Indians (children discounted, under-6 exempt; subject to change). Dress modestly to enter temples.
Temple etiquette & culture
Monasteries are living places of worship. Cover shoulders and knees, remove hats and shoes where asked, walk clockwise around shrines and avoid photography inside where it is not permitted. Your guide will advise at each site.
Best time to visit
March–May and September–November offer the clearest skies and most comfortable temperatures for temple visits and the Tiger's Nest hike. Many colourful tshechu festivals also fall in these seasons.

Real stories from real journeys
Thousands of families and couples across South India have travelled with us — here's what a few of them had to say.
Travelling with my parents and two kids, I was nervous. Holiday Vibez planned every single day perfectly, and the Alleppey houseboat was the highlight. We are already planning our next trip with them.
Best price I found anywhere, and the desert safari and Burj Khalifa tickets were all sorted before we even landed. The team was on WhatsApp whenever I had a question.
The Gulmarg gondola, the shikara ride on Dal Lake — exactly like the photos, no surprises at all. By the end of the trip our driver felt like family.
Booked a fairly last-minute Phuket trip and they still got me a great deal with visa help included. Honest, smooth and genuinely helpful people.
Scuba at Havelock was a dream come true. Every transfer and every hotel was exactly as promised. Worth every rupee, and I have already recommended them to friends.
