For active travellers, Bhutan delivers spectacular hiking, high mountain passes and pristine valleys, all in a carbon-negative kingdom. Our adventure itineraries centre on the Tiger's Nest climb and scenic trails, with honest pacing and time to acclimatise. Holiday Vibez arranges your Entry Permit so you travel in with passport or Voter ID. We arrange guided walks with local experts, though mountain weather and views are always nature's call.

What to expect on an active trip

Bhutan's trails range from gentle valley paths to the demanding, uphill Tiger's Nest climb of several hours at altitude. We build in acclimatisation and honest pacing, use experienced local guides, and keep days flexible around fitness and weather.

Altitude and honest expectations

Passes like Dochula and Chele La sit at high elevation, and mountain weather changes fast. We arrange guided walks but never guarantee clear viewpoint weather; take it steady, hydrate well and allow time to acclimatise for a safe, enjoyable trip.

Entry permit and documents

Indian citizens do not need a visa. You travel on an Entry Permit plus the Sustainable Development Fee, currently Rs 1,200 per person per night for Indians (subject to change), entering with a passport or Voter ID. We arrange the Entry Permit; certain trails may need additional local permissions, which we handle.

Best time for hiking

March to May and September to November offer the most stable conditions for hiking and high passes, with clearer skies. Monsoon can bring slippery trails and cloud, while winter is cold with possible snow at altitude.

Getting there

Most adventurers fly to Paro (PBH), often via a metro hub, for a dramatic mountain approach, or enter overland via Phuentsholing. We coordinate transfers to and from trailheads.
