Bentota is roughly one-and-a-half to two hours by road from Colombo along the coastal expressway. Travel is easiest by private car and driver, with the beach just a short transfer from the highway.
On the west coast, Bentota is at its finest December to March, when the sea is calm and skies are clear — perfect for swimming and watersports. Mid-year can bring the west-coast monsoon and rougher seas.
An online ETA is required for Indian travellers before arrival. It is usually quick to obtain, and Holiday Vibez assists you with the application.
