Rishikesh offers runs graded by difficulty so you can pick your thrill.
We work with certified rafting operators who provide helmets, life jackets and trained river guides. A safety briefing precedes every run, and swimmers and non-swimmers alike are looked after. Rafting is thrilling, but conditions and river flow are always respected.
The rafting season runs roughly late September to June, when river levels are safe and the weather pleasant. The monsoon months of July and August usually see rafting suspended for safety as the Ganga runs high. Spring and autumn are especially rewarding.
The nearest airport is Dehradun (Jolly Grant), about an hour from Rishikesh, and Haridwar is the closest major railhead. Flights from South India are additional. Most travellers fly in and drive the short scenic route to the river camps.
Wear quick-dry clothes and secure footwear, and carry a change of clothes, sunscreen and a small towel. Leave valuables at your stay, as phones and cameras are best kept dry or in the guide's waterproof pouch during the run.
