The clifftop Uluwatu Temple is one of Bali's holiest sea temples, and its sunset Kecak fire dance is a highlight of any visit. Arrive before dusk, dress respectfully with a sarong, and keep an eye on the resident monkeys near the temple grounds.
Uluwatu is legendary among surfers for its powerful reef breaks, best suited to experienced riders. Below the cliffs lie hidden gems like Padang Padang and Suluban, reached through rock passages, plus calmer coves for swimming and sunbathing.
