The ISKCON temple at Juhu, formally Sri Sri Radha Rasabihari Mandir, is the Mumbai headquarters of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, standing on a four-acre campus called Hare Krishna Land a short walk from Juhu beach. The main altar holds Sri Sri Radha Rasabihari — Krishna in his form as the divine cowherd beside Radha — with Sri Sri Gaura-Nitai (Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and Nityananda) and Sri Sri Sita-Rama-Lakshmana-Hanuman on flanking altars. The project was begun under A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, ISKCON's founder-acharya, who acquired the land in the early 1970s; the temple opened in 1978. Its most recognisable feature is the white marble temple hall under domes rising over 100 feet, visible well before you reach the gate, and the campus also carries a guest house, auditorium and prasadam restaurant, so families often make a half-day of it rather than a quick stop.
October to February is the comfortable window — Mumbai's humidity drops and the courtyard is bearable for elders, which is also when the temple's kirtan and festival calendar is busiest. Janmashtami, Krishna's birth celebration in August or September, is the single biggest day here and draws crowds in the lakhs; it is genuinely punishing for anyone with mobility trouble, and a quieter visit a week either side is kinder. Radhashtami and Gaura Purnima are the other large gatherings; confirm dates and programme with the temple before you travel.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport is the nearest airport, roughly 6-8 km away, about 30-45 minutes by taxi depending on traffic. On rail, Vile Parle station on the Western Line suburban network is the closest railhead at roughly 3 km, with Andheri about 5 km; long-distance trains arrive at Mumbai Central or Bandra Terminus, both within 10-15 km. By road the temple sits off Juhu Tara Road near Juhu beach, reachable from the Western Express Highway via Vile Parle; app-based cabs and autos run everywhere in the area, and traffic, not distance, decides your journey time.
Dress modestly — covered shoulders and legs — and leave footwear at the counter outside the temple hall. Photography inside the main sanctum is generally not permitted; check the boards at the entrance. The temple is in a dense residential pocket of Juhu with limited parking, so a cab is easier than driving in.

Are non-Hindus and foreign visitors allowed inside the ISKCON Juhu temple?
Yes. ISKCON temples are open to visitors of all backgrounds and nationalities, and Juhu regularly receives international visitors. Modest dress and quiet conduct in the temple hall are expected of everyone.
Is there a climb or many steps? Can elderly parents manage it?
No hill, no trek — the temple is at street level in the middle of Juhu. There is a short flight of steps up to the main hall; ask staff on site about the accessible route if someone in your group uses a wheelchair or cannot manage stairs.
Can we get prasadam and stay on the temple campus?
The campus has a vegetarian restaurant and prasadam counters, and ISKCON runs a guest house on the premises. Rooms are booked directly through the temple's own guest house office and fill up around festivals, so enquire well ahead.
What time does darshan open?
Timings, aarti schedules and festival programmes change and are set by the temple management, so please confirm directly with the temple before you travel. No travel agent can arrange, reserve or speed up darshan here — the temple runs its own queues and everyone joins the same line.
