Direct flights connect Leh with Delhi, and also Mumbai and Srinagar, making it the simplest option for families. The Manali–Leh and Srinagar–Leh road journeys are memorable but long, and better suited to older children.
May to September brings open roads, accessible lakes and warm daytime weather. July and August are especially popular for school-holiday travel.
