Kashmir Trekking Tour
Walk into the high Himalayas — alpine lakes, wildflower meadows and shepherd trails
Kashmir is one of India's most rewarding trekking regions, its valleys laced with trails that lead past turquoise lakes, wildflower meadows and grazing shepherd camps to high passes with sweeping Himalayan views. From the celebrated Kashmir Great Lakes and Tarsar Marsar routes to gentler meadow walks around Sonmarg and Pahalgam, there is a trek to suit every level. The main trekking season is the green summer months of July to September. Holiday Vibez plans the well-travelled routes with sensible acclimatisation, so the mountains feel like a joy rather than a challenge.

Overview of trekking in Kashmir
Kashmir's treks range from gentle meadow strolls to demanding multi-day, high-altitude circuits. The scenery is consistently spectacular — alpine lakes, green pastures, pine forests and snow-capped peaks. Popular routes include the Kashmir Great Lakes and Tarsar Marsar treks, alongside easier walks around Pahalgam and Sonmarg. We match the route to your fitness and experience.
Top trekking routes
There is a trail for every level of walker.
- Kashmir Great Lakes — a classic multi-day lake trek
- Tarsar Marsar — beautiful twin alpine lakes
- Sonmarg and Thajiwas — scenic shorter walks
- Aru and Betaab valleys — gentle valley day hikes
How to reach
Fly to Srinagar (SXR) — direct flights from Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru, with one-stop links via Delhi from other cities — then drive to the trailhead near Sonmarg or Pahalgam. As domestic travel, Indian travellers need no visa or permit; local travel is by car or taxi.
Best time & weather
The trekking season runs from roughly July to September, once the snow has cleared from the high passes and the meadows are green. Days are pleasant and nights at altitude are cold. Carry warm layers even in summer for the higher meadows, and expect afternoon cloud on some days.
Travel tips
Prepare with cardio and practice hikes, and break in your boots before you travel. Pack warm layers, rain protection and a good sleeping bag for camping treks. Mobile signal is patchy in remote valleys, so share your itinerary with family. We plan the standard, well-travelled routes and monitor conditions.

Real stories from real journeys
Thousands of families and couples across South India have travelled with us — here's what a few of them had to say.
Travelling with my parents and two kids, I was nervous. Holiday Vibez planned every single day perfectly, and the Alleppey houseboat was the highlight. We are already planning our next trip with them.
Best price I found anywhere, and the desert safari and Burj Khalifa tickets were all sorted before we even landed. The team was on WhatsApp whenever I had a question.
The Gulmarg gondola, the shikara ride on Dal Lake — exactly like the photos, no surprises at all. By the end of the trip our driver felt like family.
Booked a fairly last-minute Phuket trip and they still got me a great deal with visa help included. Honest, smooth and genuinely helpful people.
Scuba at Havelock was a dream come true. Every transfer and every hotel was exactly as promised. Worth every rupee, and I have already recommended them to friends.
