As dusk falls, the UNESCO-listed old town of Hoi An switches off its electric lights and glows instead with thousands of silk lanterns, their colours doubling in the Thu Bon River. You wander lane after lane of ochre merchant houses, join the crowd releasing paper wish-lanterns onto the water, and drift beneath the glow on a small wooden river boat. Add a bespoke tailor, a food stall or two and the historic Japanese Covered Bridge, and it is the most romantic evening in central Vietnam. Holiday Vibez builds it around your Da Nang and Ba Na Hills days.

Why Hoi An enchants after dark

By day Hoi An is a charming trading town of yellow walls and tailors; by night it becomes magical, lit entirely by lanterns reflected in the river. The monthly full-moon lantern festival dials this up further, but any evening delivers the glow, the boats and the wish-lanterns.

How to reach Hoi An

Hoi An sits about 45 minutes south of Da Nang (DAD), the central gateway. India connects to Da Nang via a 1-stop, and your private transfer runs straight to your Hoi An hotel. It pairs naturally with Da Nang's beaches and Ba Na Hills.

Best time to visit

Central Vietnam is driest and most pleasant from February to August. Try to time your stay around a full moon for the town's lantern festival, when even more lights and performances fill the streets.

Tailors & shopping

Hoi An is Vietnam's tailoring capital. Order a suit, dress or traditional ao dai early in your stay and it can be fitted and finished within a day or two, ready to collect before you leave.

Visa help for India

A Vietnam e-Visa is required for Indian travellers and usually takes three to five working days. Holiday Vibez assists with the application, though issuance is decided by the authorities.
