Everest Region Trek — Khumbu, Nepal
Guided high-altitude trekking through Sherpa country to the roof of the world
The Khumbu region around Everest offers some of the planet's most iconic trekking — from the classic route to Everest Base Camp (5,364m) and the sunrise viewpoint of Kala Patthar (5,545m) to the tranquil turquoise lakes of Gokyo. This is demanding, high-altitude walking that rewards fit, well-prepared trekkers with unforgettable scenery and warm Sherpa hospitality. Holiday Vibez arranges guided treks with experienced local teams and sensible acclimatisation. Indians don't need a visa for Nepal, so the biggest planning factor is your own preparation.

Overview of the Everest Region
The Everest (Khumbu) trek runs through Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO site of glaciers, high peaks and Sherpa villages. Most itineraries fly in to Lukla and walk up gradually via Namche Bazaar, with built-in acclimatisation days. Popular goals include Everest Base Camp with Kala Patthar, and the quieter, higher Gokyo Lakes circuit.
Difficulty & Altitude — Honest Notes
This is a serious high-altitude trek. You'll walk 5–7 hours on many days and sleep above 4,000m, where altitude sickness is a real risk. Reasonable fitness, gradual acclimatisation and a willingness to turn back if unwell are essential. We plan sensible schedules with rest days, but we cannot guarantee that any trekker will reach a given point — health, fitness and weather all play a part.
Best Time to Trek
The prime seasons are pre-monsoon spring (March–May) and post-monsoon autumn (late September–November), with autumn giving the clearest mountain views. Winter is very cold at altitude and monsoon brings cloud, rain and flight delays.
Entry & Permits
Indian citizens do not need a visa for Nepal — enter with an Indian passport or Voter ID. Trekking does require park entry and local trekking permits (such as the Sagarmatha National Park permit and the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality permit), which we help arrange as part of your guided trek.
How to Reach the Trailhead
Fly from South India to Kathmandu (KTM), then take the short, scenic mountain flight to Lukla to start walking. Lukla flights are famously weather-sensitive and can be delayed, so we recommend building in buffer days.

Real stories from real journeys
Thousands of families and couples across South India have travelled with us — here's what a few of them had to say.
Travelling with my parents and two kids, I was nervous. Holiday Vibez planned every single day perfectly, and the Alleppey houseboat was the highlight. We are already planning our next trip with them.
Best price I found anywhere, and the desert safari and Burj Khalifa tickets were all sorted before we even landed. The team was on WhatsApp whenever I had a question.
The Gulmarg gondola, the shikara ride on Dal Lake — exactly like the photos, no surprises at all. By the end of the trip our driver felt like family.
Booked a fairly last-minute Phuket trip and they still got me a great deal with visa help included. Honest, smooth and genuinely helpful people.
Scuba at Havelock was a dream come true. Every transfer and every hotel was exactly as promised. Worth every rupee, and I have already recommended them to friends.
