Chopta offers big Himalayan scenery with a relatively approachable trek. Its meadows, rhododendron forests and the iconic Tungnath–Chandrashila climb make it a highlight for nature and trekking lovers. It stays refreshingly uncommercial compared with busier hill towns.

The nearest airport is Dehradun (Jolly Grant), around 220 km away, with Rishikesh the closest major railhead. From there it's a long, scenic mountain drive to Chopta. Flights are additional to the land package, and the road journey needs the better part of a day.
March to June brings rhododendron blooms and pleasant trekking weather, while September to November offers clear post-monsoon views. Winter turns Chopta into a snow trek, thrilling but more demanding. We match the season to your experience level.
Chopta sits at high altitude, so allow time to acclimatise and pace the trek sensibly. Carry warm layers, sturdy trekking shoes and rain protection year-round. Weather can change quickly in the mountains; we plan buffers but cannot control trail or temple access in bad conditions.
