If Bangkok, Phuket and Krabi are on your list, the visa is usually the first worry, and the good news is that Thailand keeps things fairly simple for Indian travellers. There are a few routes to consider, including an eVisa applied for online before you fly and a visa-on-arrival option at the airport, each with its own document checklist and processing timeline. Rules and fees do change from time to time, so always confirm the latest position with the Thai embassy or the official portal before booking. On this page we walk you through the practical steps, the papers you should keep ready, and how our team helps first-time flyers from India get everything in order without the last-minute panic.

eVisa or visa-on-arrival: which route suits you

Indian passport holders generally have two practical paths. The eVisa is applied for online before you travel, letting you upload documents and get clearance in advance so you land relaxed. The visa-on-arrival is processed at select Thai airports, which can mean queues after a long flight. Each has its own eligibility, document set and fee, and these do change, so confirm the current rules on the official Thai portal before you book. Once you have picked your dates and route, our team helps assemble a clean file. Explore our Thailand tour packages to pair the visa with a ready itinerary.

Documents Indian travellers should keep ready

While the exact checklist depends on your chosen route, most Indian applicants prepare a passport valid for at least six months, recent passport-size photographs, confirmed return flight tickets, hotel bookings and proof of sufficient funds such as recent bank statements. First-time flyers often worry about this stage, but it is mostly paperwork you already have. We double-check everything before submission so nothing bounces back. Travelling as a couple or with kids?
