Fly into Bandaranaike International (Colombo, CMB), with direct flights from many Indian metros taking roughly one to three and a half hours. From the airport your private car and driver begin the tour — the most popular and flexible way to see the island.
Sri Lanka has two monsoons, so timing follows the coast. The west and south plus the hills are at their best December to March; the east coast shines May to September. A well-planned round tour can run most of the year by sequencing regions to the weather.
