Fly to Srinagar (SXR) — direct flights from Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru, with one-stop links via Delhi from other cities. Srinagar's courses are close to the city, and Gulmarg is a scenic drive of a couple of hours. As domestic travel, Indian travellers need no visa or permit; local travel is by car or taxi.
The golf season is the green summer months of roughly May to October, when the courses are open and the meadows lush. The Gulmarg course lies under snow in winter, when it becomes a ski area instead. Mornings can be cool even in summer, so carry a light layer for the higher greens.
