Every route is a well-travelled tourist circuit, and as domestic travel it needs no visa or permit for Indian guests. Transfer to your houseboat or hotel, then an evening shikara ride on Dal Lake and a walk through the Mughal gardens.
Drive to Gulmarg, ride the gondola and enjoy the meadows and snow. Overnight in Gulmarg or return to Srinagar.
Journey to Pahalgam via the saffron town of Pampore. Evening at leisure by the Lidder river; overnight in Pahalgam.
Explore Betaab Valley, Aru Valley and Chandanwari, with easy walks and pony trails, before returning towards Srinagar.

Your Srinagar nights can be spent aboard a traditional houseboat.
Fly to Srinagar (SXR) — direct from Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru, and typically one stop via Delhi elsewhere. All internal travel is by private car or taxi.
March to October is ideal for meadows and gardens, with tulips in April and golden chinar by late October. December to February brings snow and Gulmarg skiing. Carry warm layers year-round for the higher valleys.
