Once the seat of the Nguyen emperors, Hue is Vietnam's most regal city, cradling a vast walled Imperial City on the banks of the tranquil Perfume River. Explore moated palaces and gateways, then take a dragon boat upriver to elaborate royal tombs and hilltop pagodas. Refined imperial cuisine and a gentle pace complete the picture. It is a rich, cultural counterpoint to central Vietnam's beaches. Our packages bring its history alive.

Why visit Hue

Hue is Vietnam's imperial heart, offering the country's grandest historical sights in one compact, riverside city. For anyone drawn to culture, architecture and cuisine, it adds real depth to a central Vietnam journey.

How to reach Hue

Hue has its own airport with domestic connections, and sits close to Da Nang. Many travellers arrive via the scenic Hai Van Pass from Da Nang, a route we can build into your itinerary.

Best time to visit

Central Vietnam is best from February to August, when the weather is drier. Avoid the September to November rainy season, when Hue can see heavy downpours and occasional flooding.

Imperial history

The highlights are the walled Imperial City and the elaborate royal tombs of the Nguyen emperors along the Perfume River. A dragon-boat cruise ties them together and is a relaxing way to sightsee.

Food & local flavours

Hue is famed for refined imperial cuisine and its fiery bun bo Hue noodle soup. Sample delicate steamed rice cakes and royal-style dishes once served to the court.

Visa assistance

Indian passport holders need a Vietnam e-Visa, usually issued within 3–5 working days. Holiday Vibez assists with the application, subject to authority approval.
