The Himachal hills have no direct flights, so the trip splits into two simple legs. Fly Hyderabad to Chandigarh and drive up, with Shimla about 4 hours and Manali about 8 hours on, or fly to Delhi and take an overnight Volvo coach arriving by morning.
The Shimla and Manali twin-station tour is the classic choice, blending heritage with adventure. Travellers with a week to spare often extend to Dharamshala and Dalhousie for Tibetan culture and serene pine-clad ridges.
