Goa is a year-round destination, but the experience changes dramatically with the seasons. The peak window of November to February brings dry, sunny days and cool evenings, ideal for beaches, watersports and festivals. The monsoon paints the hills emerald and empties the sands for a quieter, cheaper escape. This guide breaks down each season so you can plan the trip that fits you best, and our team is here Mon-Sat, 9am-6pm to help.

Peak season: November to February

This is Goa at its best, dry, sunny days around the mid-20s to low-30s Celsius, cool evenings and calm seas. Every beach, shack and watersport is open, and the festive season sparkles with music festivals and New Year parties. It's also the busiest and priciest time, so book well ahead.

Summer: March to May

Temperatures climb and humidity rises, but the crowds thin and prices soften. The sea stays warm and swimmable, and you'll have quieter beaches. Pack light cottons, sunscreen and plenty of water, and plan activities for mornings and evenings.

Monsoon: June to September

The rains transform Goa into a lush, green paradise. It's the quietest and most affordable season, wonderful for waterfalls, spice farms and peaceful stays, though many watersports pause and seas can be rough. Bring rain gear and embrace the slower pace.

Festivals worth planning around

Goa's calendar adds real colour to a trip:

  • Christmas and New Year celebrations (December-January)
  • Music festivals along the North Goa coast in winter
  • Carnival, a vibrant Portuguese-rooted street festival (February)
  • Shigmo, Goa's spring festival of colour and parades (March)

Choosing your season

For classic beach-and-party Goa, come November to February. For value and calm, consider the shoulder months or monsoon. Whatever your dates, package prices start from around ₹9,999, with the final quote varying by hotels, season and travel.
