The Ideal Bali Itinerary
How to combine Bali's regions into one perfectly paced holiday.
The secret to a great Bali trip is combining its distinct regions in the right order. Our ideal 5–6 day sample itinerary pairs the beaches and beach clubs of the south with Ubud's rice terraces and jungle, then adds a boat escape to a Nusa island. It flows logically, keeps travel time sensible and leaves room to relax — a blueprint you can shorten, extend or tailor with our team.

How to structure a Bali trip
The smartest approach is to group your days by region rather than criss-crossing the island. Start in the south for beaches and easy airport access, slot in your Nusa island day while you're near Sanur, then move inland to Ubud. This order minimises driving and lets each area's character shine.
Regions to combine
Bali's three essential regions each offer something different:
- South — beaches, beach clubs, surf and sunsets.
- Ubud — culture, rice terraces, jungle and wellness.
- A Nusa island — dramatic cliffs and snorkelling.
Combining all three gives the most complete experience.
How many days do you need?
Five to six days is the sweet spot for the classic combination without rushing. With only four days, focus on the south plus one Ubud day. With a full week, add a Mount Batur sunrise trek or extra Ubud and beach time for a more relaxed rhythm.
Where to stay along the route
We usually recommend a split stay: two to three nights in the south for beaches and the island trip, then two to three nights in Ubud for culture and jungle. This keeps you close to each day's activities and avoids long daily transfers.
Best time to follow this plan
This itinerary works best in the April–October dry season, when seas are calm for the Nusa crossing and sunsets are reliable. It's still enjoyable in the greener November–March months, with mornings usually the brightest part of the day.

Real stories from real journeys
Thousands of families and couples across South India have travelled with us — here's what a few of them had to say.
Travelling with my parents and two kids, I was nervous. Holiday Vibez planned every single day perfectly, and the Alleppey houseboat was the highlight. We are already planning our next trip with them.
Best price I found anywhere, and the desert safari and Burj Khalifa tickets were all sorted before we even landed. The team was on WhatsApp whenever I had a question.
The Gulmarg gondola, the shikara ride on Dal Lake — exactly like the photos, no surprises at all. By the end of the trip our driver felt like family.
Booked a fairly last-minute Phuket trip and they still got me a great deal with visa help included. Honest, smooth and genuinely helpful people.
Scuba at Havelock was a dream come true. Every transfer and every hotel was exactly as promised. Worth every rupee, and I have already recommended them to friends.
