Getting to Malaysia is refreshingly simple. Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) is the main gateway, with direct flights of roughly 4.5–5.5 hours from many Indian metros. Once you land, the country is easy to navigate thanks to efficient trains, ride-hailing and short domestic hops to the islands. That accessibility is a big part of why Malaysia is such a popular first international trip for Indian travellers. Here's how to plan your journey.

Flights from India

Kuala Lumpur is the primary entry point, with direct flights from many Indian metros taking around 4.5–5.5 hours. Frequent connections mean flexible timing, and Malaysia's central location makes it an easy add-on to a wider Southeast Asia trip too. We help you plan routings, though we don't quote fares here as they vary by date and airline.

From the airport into the city

KUL is modern and well-organised:

  • A fast train link into central Kuala Lumpur
  • Metered taxis and Grab ride-hailing
  • Pre-arranged private transfers (which we can include)

Getting around Malaysia

Within KL, the train network and Grab make sightseeing effortless. For longer distances, short domestic flights connect KL to Langkawi, Penang and Kota Kinabalu in about an hour, while comfortable coaches and trains reach cities like Malacca and Penang overland.

Reaching the islands

For the east-coast islands like Redang and Perhentian, you'll fly or drive to a coastal town, then take a boat across. Langkawi and Penang have their own airports, making them quick and simple to reach by air from KL.

Visa & entry

Indian passport holders travel on the eNTRI / e-Visa, applied for online and typically processed in around 2–4 working days. We assist with the process so your arrival at KUL is smooth and stress-free.
