There's plenty of outdated advice about Andaman permits online, so here's the straight version. For Indian nationals, no permit is required for the main tourist islands — Port Blair, Havelock (Swaraj Dweep) and Neil (Shaheed Dweep). Only a few protected areas need a locally arranged permit, and foreign visitors simply register on arrival. In short, entry is far easier than many travellers expect.

The RAP has been removed

The old Restricted Area Permit (RAP) that once applied to the main islands has been lifted for Indian nationals. That means Port Blair, Havelock and Neil are all freely accessible — no paperwork, no queues, just your ID for hotels and flights.

Where a permit still applies

A handful of ecologically or tribally sensitive areas still require a permit. The most common for tourists is Baratang, where crossing the reserve to the limestone caves needs a forest/area permit. This is arranged locally on the day of travel, and we handle the logistics for you.

Rules for foreign nationals

Foreign visitors are also welcome on the main islands and simply register on arrival at the airport or seaport. Some restricted zones remain off-limits, but the classic beach and dive circuit is open.

What to carry

  • A valid government photo ID for Indian travellers.
  • Passport and any registration slip for foreign nationals.
  • Ferry and hotel bookings, which we arrange in advance.

Why it's easier than it sounds

Because the main circuit is permit-free for Indians, planning an Andaman holiday is genuinely straightforward. The only real advance work is booking ferries, scuba and the Cellular Jail show — all of which we take care of.

Indicative pricing

Packages start from ₹13,999 for a 2 Nights / 3 Days short trip, rising with the number of nights and inclusions. The price table is a starting guide; your final quote reflects hotels, islands, ferries and season.
