Itinerary information
Day 1: Arrival in Colombo – Transfer to Sigiriya
Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport and transfer to Sigiriya. Visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, Sri Lanka’s largest and most impressive cave temple complex. Check in to your hotel and relax overnight in Sigiriya.
Day 2: Sigiriya Rock Fortress & Polonnaruwa Tour
Climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress early morning for stunning views and ancient frescoes. In the afternoon, explore the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, a UNESCO site filled with statues, stupas, and royal ruins. Return to Sigiriya for the night.
Day 3: Anuradhapura & Mihintale Exploration
Travel to Anuradhapura, the island’s first capital, famous for the sacred Bodhi Tree and centuries-old stupas. Later, visit Mihintale, the birthplace of Buddhism in Sri Lanka. Overnight stay in Anuradhapura.
Day 4: Transfer to Kandy – Temple of the Tooth
Head to Kandy, Sri Lanka’s cultural hub. Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, stroll around Kandy Lake, and enjoy an evening Kandyan dance performance. Overnight stay in Kandy.
Day 5: Kandy City Tour & Departure
After breakfast, visit the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya. Enjoy a scenic drive back to Colombo with a stop at a tea plantation. Later, transfer to the airport for your return flight.
