The temple is renowned for its grand scale, intricate bas-reliefs, and spectacular architecture that represents the pinnacle of Khmer building techniques.

About the Angkor Archaeological Park
The Angkor Archaeological Park spans over 400 square kilometers and contains the magnificent remains of the different capitals of the Khmer Empire, from the 9th to the 15th century. Angkor represents an entire civilization. The architecture and layout of the successive capitals bear witness to a high level of social order and ranking within the Khmer Empire. Angkor is therefore a major site exemplifying cultural, religious, and symbolic values, as well as containing high architectural, archaeological, and artistic significance.
The park is respected for its irrigation system which formed the basis of the region's prosperity and power in ancient times.
